17 year old Beth Coates from Thornaby won a local talent competition and earned the prize of performing to over 10,000 people at the Metro Radio Arena later in the year alongside some of the biggest stars in the UK.
Beth, who goes by the stage name ‘Boo’, won ‘The Big Audition’ competition which was organised by TFM’s charity Cash for Kids and out of hundreds hopefuls, she was chosen to perform at the live final along with 11 other finalists at Mink in Middlesbrough on Wednesday evening. Boo wowed judges including X Factor starlet Abi Alton, TFM’s Brian Moore and Richard Upshall from international music management company RU:Listening, with her performance. She also fundraised over £2,800 for the charity over 2 weeks leading up to the event.
The prize also includes a management contract with RU:Listening, joining other local talents such as Kerrianne Covell and Bre Musiq.
Boo said “I have had the most amazing two weeks and have really enjoyed every minute of fundraising for Cash for Kids, it’s been lovely to see so many of my family and friends come together and help.”
“I am still in complete shock at winning, but so very excited at being given the opportunity to perform at Metro Radio Arena on 7th December and I can’t wait to start my music journey with the team at RU Listening – I really am looking forward so much to the future.”
