MUSIC artist management company RU Listening Ltd have partnered with Skylive Events to bring local talent to the upcoming Skylive Airshow at Durham Tees Valley Airport.

RU Listening has announced it is to be a corporate partner for the August 29 music event, which will showcase six of RU Listening’s talented artists on stage alongside the air displays, on-the-ground fun, classic cars, food and much more.

Entertaining crowds will be RU Listening’s talented Teesside musicians Kerrianne Covell, Kim Blair, Bre Musiq, Boo, and the newly-signed Josh Daniel. The full line-up is to be announced closer to the time.

Musicians will be showcasing their talent throughout the day, from the smaller ‘live’ tents and VIP marquees though to the main stage, leading up to a live music extravaganza in the evening.

RU Listening’s artists have even teamed up to dedicate an exclusive song – “I Believe I Can Fly” – as well as compiled a video for the Skylive Airshow. The video will be available to view on the RU Listening website, the Skylive Events website and on You Tube from this Friday.

Skylive joined up with Durham Tees Valley Airport to bring back the airshow to the region. Last held in 1989, then known as The Teesside Airshow, it attracted tens of thousands of visitors.

The one-day festival, now known as the Skylive Airshow, will include all manner of planes, helicopter rides, classic and super cars, vintage bikes, a massive fun fair for all ages, street food stalls, licensed bars, corporate hospitality, an army display team, exhibitor stalls, and a never-before-seen world record skydive attempt. There will also be the chance for members of the public to try parachute jumps.
Classic British fighter planes, the Spitfire & Hurricane, the Blades, an aerobatic display team, and the thunderous roar of the XH558 Vulcan Bomber will be among the attractions.

Along with the RU Listening team, there will be other local artists as well as some more well-known names, which will be announced in the days ahead.

Skylive Co-founder Chris Petty said: “We are wanting to give our local artists a chance to perform in front of thousands of people, and what better way than in front of their home crowd, in the North East? We are also happy to have RU Listening on board as a corporate partner, as they have great up-and-coming, talented artists.”

RU Listening’s marketing manager, Junior Masandi, said: “RU Listening is delighted to be a corporate partner for this event. To bring back the airshow after 25 years has been a fantastic feat – and this year is set to be not just a great day out for all the family, but also for music lovers.

“All of RU Listening’s artists are looking forward to taking to the stage and putting on a memorable show. This really will be an event with something for everyone, and we can’t wait.”
